After a quiet winter, buried in their Deep South London studio, laying down tracks and winding their live set so tight it hurts, The AOM emerge into proto-spring with two singles (one frustratingly on hold with a host of legal-beagles in tow...) & the first of a plethora of live shows with which to awaken the winter-weary masses. The first fruits appear in March - a single & download entitled 'Loosen Up', backed with 4 London live shows in quick succession...

'Loosen Up' was recorded aboard a red trawler aka studio Lightship95... it has a tight pop structure and is both angular & edgy - bringing to mind very early Cure - but combines rock elements with the syncopated rhythmns more often associated with samba. Fusing these tight elements into a 3 1/2 minute pop song suggests a band in tune with their influences and a combined love of New Wave, Indie, Post-Punk, Dance & Pop. The Ambassadors import the very best of the 80’s guitar-led pop sound and embelish it with 20 years of further musical progression & knowledge to create their own sound.
The band thrive in a live environment however & previous festivals (Guilfest saw their fanbase expand to include Roger Daltry & various Bunnymen...), a residency at Proud in Camden, cherry-picked support slots & sell-out London Shows plus a glut of National (BBC One/ 6/ XFM etc) & International Radio support has seen the boys return, keen for much more in 2013.
Following 'Loosen Up', should be the (youtube smash) 'Push It' which blurs a splash of the Kinks into the Salt & Pepa classic. Currently (forbidden on youtube) spending time with M'lud and various wigs in a fancy courtroom. We're hoping it's set free for summer... In the meantime, with these all-corrupted, tie-straightened, credit-crunched times, what could be more appropriate than the Ambassadors message... 'Loosen Up'.
